BOO! Spooky season is upon us and it’s time to start creating your scary animations! Halloween is such a great time of the year because we can all explore our dark and scary side in a fun and creative way. The decorations, costumes, pumpkin carving, and more give us so many great opportunities to be creative. Halloween is the best chance to bring these creations to life!

By telling a story, you can really liven-up these not-so-lively creatures. You can create a story where a zombie becomes best friends with a vampire and they joyfully raid the streets together on Halloween night. IANIMAGIC 2017 WINNER STORY – GUAN-TING CHENG, BEST ART WINNER

Guan-Ting Chen (陳冠廷) received both the Best Art and Student awards in iAnimagic 2017 for his thought-provoking animated film, Wanam (大武俠行旅). His award-winning piece has a very particular artistic taste, dominated by bold lines and striking colors. It has a unique and imaginative storyline about the rise of samurais and geishas again in Japan’s future, and addresses various social issues such as gender stereotypes, homosexuality, and gender identity, encouraging the audience to think about these topics. We have had the pleasure to have Guan-Ting sharing his animation journey.

IANIMAGIC 2017 WINNER STORY – YINGZI ZHUO, BEST TECHNIQUE WINNER

The Best Technique award for iAniMagic Animation Contest 2017 has been awarded to Yingzi Zhuo for her impressive animation, Door, which depicts the difficulties we encounter door-after-door throughout life. Zhuo is an enthusiastic student from Xiamen Academy of Arts and Design at Fuzhou University, China, with a strong passion for animation.
