We are excited to announce the winners of the third annual iAniMagic competition! The iAniMagic competition allows users to create animated pieces using the app Animation Desk. In the past two years, the competition has drawn much attention from both amateur and professional animators. Riding on the expectation, we once again received a wide variety of brilliant animations from participants around the world this year.
In addition to online voting by the public, we also invited experienced and professional animators and artists to serve on our panel of judges. After narrowing the list of ninety-one entries down to the top three works, we are proud to present the following animations as the iAniMagic2013 Winners:
iAniMagic 2013 Animation Competition: Winner Announcement
Gold Award –“Jump” by Cecilia Velasco
Our first-place animation was created by Cecilia, an artist who loves to turn her imagination into animations. This animation was created with great timing and brilliant usage of colors. Ready to be mesmerized by Cecilia’s eye-catching main character?
Silver Award –“Now and Then” by Tim Celis
After watching hours of animation for inspiration and formulating dozens of ideas in his mind, Tim decided to turn his personal life story into an animation for the competition. Tim drew hundreds of frames in order to complete “Now and Then,” a superb, emotionally evocative piece, with a striking aesthetic.
Bronze Award –“The Scream” by Jáchym Bouzek
Jáchym is a 14-year-old animator interested in art history. His submission was inspired by Edvard Munch’s painting “The Scream”. Jáchym loves to create animations that represent both the light and dark sides of life. A fantasy that grew from his rich imagination, his piece displayed the smooth motions of a thief, with deadpan comedic timing.
Have a look at all of the amazing works in the iAniMagic2013 Gallery. Congratulations again to all the winners of iAniMagic2013!
We look forward to receiving more animations from you next year. See you next summer!
