Kdan is celebrating ten years of creativity! In 2009, Kdan started on a kitchen table with our flagship app, PDF Reader. In the past ten years, through teamwork and growing our community, we’ve transformed into a global SaaS company with offices in Taiwan, China, and the U.S., introduced numerous productivity solutions, and planning to release another ground breaking service by the middle of 2019!
Building a Mobile Workforce
We’re excited to celebrate a decade of creativity, but first, let’s talk about the new app on the way. DottedSign is our “latest and greatest” in a line of products that increase productivity and help teams create the mobile workplace of the future. DottedSign is an app that makes signing contracts quick and easy.
A user can quickly sign a document from his or her phone and send it off to whomever or wherever it needs to go next. If you’re the one creating the contract and need others’ approval, you simply add signature fields and send to one or more signees simultaneously!

Looking to the Future
To kick off the celebration, we’re sending a message to our future selves through a time capsule that we’ll be burying on April 26, 2019.
It’s inscribed with a simple message from our current team that reflects the mindset we’ve carried throughout the first 10 years:
“To Kdan 2029,
Keep Rolling with the Great Team!
From Kdan 2019″
And what goes in this time capsule? We’re all about being productive and getting creative here at Kdan, so naturally, we wanted to incorporate both of these values in whatever we send to the Kdan Team of the future.
We asked our users for their most creative ideas about what kinds of time-saving, life-changing, or other awesome technology we’ll have access to in the future. We’re taking your predictions and keeping them safe until 2029, when we’ll go through them and see just how accurate they were!
Some ideas we’ve received already include:
- A “smart closet” that sorts your clothes based on the time of year and frequency that you wear an item
- Adjustable screens on smart devices that can be changed to fit a user’s needs
- Artificially-developed organs to replace waiting for organ transplants
- Colonizing Mars
- And more!

Another way we’ll be commemorating our first 10 years and preparing for our next is a tree-planting ceremony on April 26th (one day after the U.S.’s Arbor Day). We care about the environment, and wanted to give back in a way that we could watch grow during our next 10 years. We’ll be working with iTree to set the event up. The trees will be planted in Kaohsiung, Taiwan. But don’t worry–we’ll be sure to share the event with you no matter where you are online!
Jolly’s Joining the Fun!
By now, many of you have met Jolly, Kdan’s new mascot! He’ll be around from now on, and will be playing a big role in our 10th anniversary fun!
